Ian Fairweather & Robert Brown are well versed in Custom Home Design, Residential & Light Commercial Renovations & Additions as well as Historic Restorations and seamless additions to Historic Homes.


Ian Fairweather

Went to Design School in London England and after graduating worked for JM Design Consultants, designing high end stores and boutiques in London’s West End. Ian then joined Murdoch Design Associates and was primarily involved I the Hi-tech redesign of Terminal 2 at Heathrow Airport, London.

Moving to Manhattan, Ian worked at HLW, a multi disciplined Architectural and Engineering Corp. where he was solely responsible for designing and managing all the Interiors of the new 250,000 sq. ft. Corporate World Headquarters of Schering Plough Pharmaceutical Corp. in Madison, New Jersey.

It was at HLW where Ian & Rob first met, and after each completing 3 year projects, decided to form their own company and move out to Eastern Long Island and do what they really wanted to do, Design beautiful Homes that are contextually appropriate for the North Fork and Shelter Island.


Robert I. Brown, Architect, P.C.

Robert Brown studied Architecture at Miami University, Ohio, and at the Architectural Association School in London, England. While in London, Rob also worked for a local Architect, working on projects ranging from major department store renovations to additions to a thatched cottage.

Upon returning to the U.S., Rob worked for several small Architectural and design firms, and spent two years working as a project manager for a major Manhattan construction company.

Rob joined HLW in 1980, where he was senior designer on several projects, including a corporate cafeteria, which appeared in several publications, and a headquarters building for the U.S. Army Computer Systems Command.

In 1984, having acquired his professional license, Rob joined forces with Ian and relocated to the North Fork.
