Orient Sound Bluff
This home was designed for a young family on a wooded lot in a community of L.I. Sound-front properties high on a bluff with views of Connecticut. This was created in a traditionally based Cottage “shingle style” “not so big house”. It is a two story residence, where the second floor is hidden in the roof with dormers supplying the light & air and in which all the nooks & crannies of the “knee wall” spaces are used for built-ins such as window seats, book cases and unexpected storage spaces. This home has a wonderful degree of finish details both outside and in, where its open plan first floor’s use of square columns, delineates different spaces. The outdoor space is wonderful with it’s bluff top view, a water side porch & minimally brick patio framed pool.
